May '06 - New Artists in the Gallery!
May is always a
glorious month, and this month has been fabulous. The
weather is improving and more people are coming out
to enjoy the warm summer evenings and the delight of
the old town of Altea. The Gallery has received more
visitors and the comments have been wonderful
‘This Gallery is exactly what Altea needs, serious
art’. ‘Exquisite, Beautiful,
Stunning’ to name just a few of the comments
written in the guest book. Sales have also been astounding
as more people are becoming aware of The Gallery and
the art and artists that it represents and the dedication
to finding the right piece of art work for the client.
The Fusion Gallery has
taken on four new artists this month:
Eva
Navarro, a Spanish artist living in Madrid. Her
recent work focuses on the human figure in an abstract
environment, showing people in colourful theatrical
sceneries. The people themselves are painted with a
sharp realism, and often appear isolated. The figures
are washed in sun, casting shadows across the canvas
and stand in seas of extraordinary colour.
TJ
Miles, an Irish artist living in Torrevieja. TJ
tends not to have figures in his paintings as he prefers
to offer uncluttered landscapes into which the viewer
may place themselves
Janne
M Greibeskand a Norwegian artist living in Rome.
In some of Janne’s works she reduces the distance
between painting and sculpture, establishing a close
relation with the textural quality characteristic of
contemporary art, to the point that the work appears
to venture beyond its frame
Darren
Baker a British artist and he is one of the country's
leading painters within the classical realism genre.
After graduation he has striven to perfect his technique
and vision inspired by several Old masters and contemporary
realist painters.
We are planning
an exhibition of paintings
of two of TFG’s local artists
Luis Frutos and Eric
Zilverberg in the next month
Also this month,
Pip and I have both celebrated our birthdays, Pip on
the 18th and I on the 19th, we are very happy to receive
belated birthday cards, flowers or presents!!!
We hope to
welcome you at the gallery soon, with or without gifts!
