Jonathan Loxley

I work in stone
because for me it is the perfect material for dreaming
and holds no pre-defined shapes within it and therefore
no previous human interaction, apart from it's extraction
from the landscape. For me the stone is a mirror,
a nebulous void that searches to see what it can make
of me, and therefore carves its shape and meaning
from my own void. In this way I feel that it is the
closest I will ever get to being allowed to spy on
the craft of the universe.
