Dianne Kaufman
BA Fine Art
Dianne
Kaufman works are oils on canvas, using thickly applied
oil paint ( a technique known as impasto ) portraits
of a kind, though more about substance than visual
likeness, (de Kooning said that flesh is what oils
were invented for); acknowledging the influence of
de Koonig, Francis Bacon, Chaim Soutine and Lucien
Freud.
The accidental
happenings in their execution seem to have some resonance
with those chance elements of birth and life that
inform the appearance of every individual.
Dianne’s
work has been widely exhibited and holds a universal
fascination. With clients in the UK, France, Spain,
Australia and the States the last few years have heralded
a new recognition for her practice
Exhibitions in:
London, Philadelphia, Spain, New York, Miami.
