Influenced
by detailed observations of varying weather environments
and rapidly changing light conditions, Colson explains
‘the colour of the sky changes dramatically
over a matter of minutes during the early morning
hours and perhaps slightly longer in the evening,
at different times of the day, during different seasons
and at different locations around the world. A series
of completely diverse paintings can be created from
those limited observations’.
For the last three
consecutive years, Roger Colson has had a painting
selected alongside distinguished artists such as Mary
Fedden OBE, RA, Beryl Cook OBE and Barry Novis, to
enter the main auction for the annual ‘Art for
Life’ Auction hosted by world famous Christie’s
Auction House in London.
Roger Colson was
born 1958 in the UK. His work has been shown and is
represented in galleries and collections on both sides
of the Atlantic, in the United Kingdom, Canada, United
Arab Emirates, Spain and The United States and South
America.
